What type of face do I have?

If you mean face shape, look at the relationship between face length, cheek width, temple width and jaw width. Oval, round, square, heart, oblong and diamond are useful styling descriptions—not fixed biological types.

01

Face type is not skin type

Face shape describes outline and proportions. It does not tell you whether your skin is oily or dry, identify your ethnicity, assess your health or determine attractiveness.

02

The widest area is a useful clue

A broad jaw can lean toward a square reference. A broader upper face with a narrower jaw can lean toward heart. Wider cheeks with narrower temples and jaw can lean toward diamond. The full set of proportions matters.

03

Use the label lightly

Hair, beards, expression and camera perspective change the visible outline. Compare a second, similarly lit portrait when a result surprises you; then use it as one input to a hairstyle or glasses discussion.
